Preparation For The Sacrament Of Confirmation
Our Confirmation Programme is open to anyone in Year 7 and above who have made their First Holy Communion. The parish has produced a booklet 'So you're thinking of making your Confirmation'. The file may be downloaded, or you can read online direct from our webpage, whichever way you choose please make sure you read it carefully before signing up for the programme. Also if you are not a regular attendee at Mass, it is advisable that you start coming regularly to Mass BEFORE you consider applying for Confirmation. The decision to be confirmed should not be taken lightly. All applicants must decide for themselves. Parents must not make the decision for their child.

Unlike First Communion, there is no application form for Confirmation. Anyone who decides that they want to join the parish preparation programme for Confirmation must write a letter of application to Fr John.
What to include in your application letter:
1. A short introduction of yourself and why you want to be confirmed.
2. Please also include your age, your school year group, your parents name and their contact email. (write or type clearly as we will use this email to let you know the outcome of your application)
You will need to hand in your letter personally to Fr John.
Confirmation is not done annually so do keep a lookout for the date when applications are opened. The best way to do that is by attending Mass at St Joseph's regularly so you don't miss out on important announcements!
